The Fauhope Experience
Fauhope's bedrooms are all completely unique, with their own designer quirks, colour schemes and luxury touches. The elements that are consistent are the comfort of the beds, the sumptuousness of the fittings and the bottle of sherry awaiting all guests. Nowhere in Melrose, nor indeed the Scottish Borders, will you find better furnished bed and breakfast accommodation or enjoy a more boutique hotel-inspired stay.
From the moment you arrive at Fauhope you will realise you are staying somewhere magical. In winter, the hallway is lit with tealights and soft uplighting, the fire roars and crackles in the drawing room and candles and foliage fill the house. In summer, Sheila's famous and fabulous floral displays take over the entrance hall and diffuse fragrance and colour through the house. You will be invited to enjoy a glass of sherry or afternoon tea in the drawing room, before being shown to your room.
The en-suite bedrooms always invoke a satisfied sigh from the guests. Whether you are shown to Laing's room, with its French/Scottish influenced interior and huge window overlooking the Eildons; or to the Turret, with its elegantly masculine luxury interior and grey and white stripey bathroom; or to the Cottage, with its quirky boudoir chic design, stand-alone bath and ghost chair, you will not be disappointed.
Breakfast is a hearty, Scottish Borders inspired affair, with some sophisticated touches that make it a wonderful dining experience whether you are a rugby player, business traveller, mature lady or city living gourmand.
After breakfast, the day is yours to discover the Scottish Borders, and Sheila will be delighted to send you on your way with a list of places to visit and restaurants to frequent. Nothing is too much trouble, so if your wedding shirt needs ironed, your walking boots need dried, or you need a bottle of champagne chilled for your return, just ask. Don't forget to take a stroll round the Fauhope gardens, or book a relaxing massage in the Fauhope treatment room, or if you need to catch up on work first tap into the free onsite wifi.
